The Húseyjarkvísl is a salmon- and seatrout river in the northwest of Iceland. Up to mid of May seatrout have been caught in the Húseyjarkvísl. Many of them silver and fresh and in great condition. Mid of May the winter came back to the north of Iceland. The salmon season in Iceland is starting. The fish are earlier in the rivers as usual – rivers like Nordurá, Húseyjarkvísl, the Laxás and the Vatnsdalsá perform well. There are still some rods available, e.g. in August on the Húseyjarkvísl, the Laxá in Leirarsveit and the Vatnsdalsá. On the latter it’s normally close to impossible to get licenses.
